The NEED to support Hari Bakat and Cheer

Hey Puan Pengetua ( I know for a fact you are reading this so here is my message, for the teachers who are reading this in the school, please let your BOSS know about this message).

I just read from my blog that none of the teachers are promoting the cheer this year. This will prompt me to investigate if you have anything to do with it. Last year during the cheer competition, your school (Please remember that SMKBUD4 is your school) appeared in the press and students from your school were even interviewed and Justin promise that this year they will come back with a greater force to win the competition. There was also a color photo of the students supporting the team. Please DON’T screw it up this year? What have you got against Cheer? If it was bad the Ministry would have banned it years ago. Instead it's being held in a very impressive venue. For goodness sake, what kind of modernised woman are you? We are in the 21st Century and you are still living in the Stone Age.

The "Hari Bakat" is over. A big thanks to all the students and parents who came and supported this event and also for making this event possible. To the students who participated and work so hard for this day, your performance was simply fantastic and greatly appreciated. Oh yes, thanks to all the teachers who organised this event and a huge an tremendous big thank you to the Pengetua for NOT showing up (this was expected and anticipated by many). The students behaved extremely well and there was no misbehaviour reported.
For the 2 days of the cheer competition , go in force to support your school. If the school is NOT able to provide the transport as before, then ask your parents or take the LRT or a Taxi to Bukit Jalil and support the team as before. If the support is low and the team doesnt perform well, the Pengetua will have another excuse to scrap the cheer totally. Parents please help your children and their classmates and schoolmates to attend this event and make it successful. Last year the school was awarded the best crowd support and the last thing we want this year is to be known as the worse crowd support. To the girls of the cheer team, make this the best that you have. Perform like never before and make history for the school. To the cheer team, 2008 is your year - go out there and show the rest of the schools in Malaysia what you are capable of. Win it as a tribute to the 1st Pengetua for having the vision that the cheer team of SMKBU4 will one day be the talk of other schools. To the teachers who have supported the cheer team, you have the sincere and deepest appreciation from all parents - keep it up for they are here to support you as well.
And lastly Pengetua please respect the students so that you can earn respect from them. On the request to meet the parents. Dont break it into groups. Fix a time, meet all of them and clear all issues on hand. Hiding and running away would only shows that you have something to hide. If you are innocent - then why should you be afraid. Fix a date - meet the parents all at once and resolve all matters. There is no need for newsletter as it cost money.

Haha, nice 1 anonymous #2.
I would agree, that newsletter is just a waste of paper, it's some sort of like, "Here's what happened this year, lets forget about it. Come to Hari Bakat!".

Anyways i feel confused about whether or not to go. I do not want to be disappointed by the day, but i want to support my friends. So.. we'll see.

Had it been Malam Bakat there'd be no need for this desperatre appeal for support. The students are as talented as ever. Just that the atmosphere, mood and feel of an evening gala concert is gone. Like the Cheer competition, Malam Bakat is one of the popular school events where students ,senior & junior establish rapport. Similarly, parents and pibg meet pengetua, pks and teachers in cordial environment. Reason for the change to Hari Bakat is mere excuse. Which school does not have discipline problems? Get real!Remember thse are growing youngsters. Hold it in the evening next year and see them behave with decorum. If the pk running the show is a true educator, guide the teens as to acceptable social behaviour on such occasions. It is part of socialisation. What better avenue for them to develop social skills and people skills?
In previous years, the young men and ladies are so excited - inviting their family and friends along to see them shine on stage. With the restrictions this year, ticket sales are down. More than that, the flimsy excuses make your own students appear like hooligans beyond control! What an insult! No wonder students lost respect for you. Please don't ever repeat this.

Can we still actually buy tickets for hari bakat tomorrow?

Dear Parents and Students,

Please give your full support for the Hari Bakat as the students have work so hard to make this day possible.

Dont let your personal feeling cloud your judgement on this matter. At the end of the day, if the support is poor, its the students who have work so hard will suffer.

Lets put all your indifferences aside and come support the students on this day. Please have a heart and a compassion for the students.

go buy the ticket now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Okay, i've asked the teachers. Tickets will be sold tomorrow till about 10. When the show starts, no more tickets will be sold.

So, gather all your friends to come tomorrow and support Hari Bakat!

Its one of her schemes. She WILL NOT BE ATTENDING tomorrow. She is the one that made malam bakat 'hari bakat' for her own PERSONAL reasons. and she's making it a failure so that she'll be able to use it as an excuse to have it canceled next year.

WE MUST NOT LET HER SUCCEED! Gather all your friends and get them to come tomorrow!
Tickets will be sold at KBU college early till 10.

oh btw, the students worked really hard.

There are no tradisional dances this year. This year's performances might actually be the best and most modern among all the years.

Dont let the student's hard work and effort go to waste.

SUPPORT HARI BAKAT!

Well I don't think the ticket is still available anymore. But just try to get it lah. Support your friends.

Some Form 5 finally got through and get to perform for the first time. I'm sure they want some crowd too right?

someone asked the teacher and she said it'll be sold tomorrow.

so, ask your friends to go for haribakat tomorrow

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope ALL of us will be in KBU's hall tomorrow for SMK BUD(4)'s Hari Bakat.

We must go, not to please the Pengetua or anything about her. We go to support the tradition of our school. Despite all the problems, the students this year put it a lot of effort to make it the best tomorrow. So I hope all of us can make our way there to show them support and show to others SMK BUD(4) is still the best even with the Pengetua giving us so much problems.

Although it might be in the morning, i'm sure the performance will still be as good!

Since the Pengetua will not be there tomorrow, it is even better! We can all enjoy ourselves and really make it a bomb!

GOOOO!!!! its the most awesomest performances of the year!!!! Just go and support the performers, it's not their fault its hari bakat instead of malam bakat. It's not their fault the pengetua sux. But it will be your fault for crushing their hope for support and humongous crowds cheering them on!!! Do this not for the pengetua, not for yourselves, but for SMK BANDAR UTAMA DAMANSARA 4!!!! The legacy that Pn Liu left behind should not be smeared, true. But paltry attendance at hari bakat and cheer is going to SMEAR it WORSE.

That said, SUPPORT HARI BAKAT AND CHEER!!!!

It should be a unanimous decision by the whole student body to go in full support of the Cheer 2008 but what i have to stake out here is that when we win BEST SUPPORT,we are in other words great cheerleaders as well. So,what's Blitzerz for?Ever since Mei Li and Amanda Tham left school and also left the direction of the squad to new hands,it has not yet seen victory.Hopefully,if really the entire student body goes in full fledge to support this year,we will not only take home the Best Supporter prize but also cinching the covetted top spot as well. Please,Blitzerz team, the supporters can only do so much for you. So,don't let us down and don't let us outshine you instead.

Where was the Pengetua today when we were having Hari Bakat?

Anonymous said...

today's hari bakat went on nicely...fellow students did their best to perform. people were screaming and shouting loudly to show their support! however, i did not see the pengetua at all! I was one of the KRS volenteers to direct traffic and got the position of greeting parents and VIPs.my duty was until 10 when hari bakat starts but i did not greet the pengetua at all. even if she did come(which she DID NOT) surely she would have came before 10 or even erlyer. this just shows HOW MUCH pengetua supports the school

My girl went to Hari Bakat for the first time and she enjoyed it. Upon fetching her home, i asked if the Pengetua was there. Her answer was "Don't know. I have better things to look out for. She is the last person I would bother to look for. Not here better." :)

How true, anonymous-before-me. However, i'm more interested to know if Zubaidah is not there too.

Oh, Pn. Zubaidah did come, she's mean but a very responsible woman. I think almost all the teachers came, even the teacher who recently undergo pregnancy came to support this event.

I think probably Pn. Zabedah expected something else from this event and did not come for hari bakat.

I think the day went right, just that this year the PA they hired really blew the event, mics not working, stage not ready when performing, sudden stop of the song. However it still went nicely. Hope to go next year's 1.

HM - MIA
Two major school functions back to back and the HM is nowhere to be seen. What is happening? For all her claim that she is always acting with the interests of the school and students in mind, this simply shows how much she cares! You're not with the students at all.
Attended the Hari Bakat & thoroughly enjoyed the performances.BU4 kids are well brought up and the adults were very civilised, cultured people. Yes the kids screamed, in support of their frens! What 's the worry?

i think the pa system was better than last yr's. it didnt even work for the people last yr during the band. the singer's voice was drowned off.

what can you expect from people who came at before 7 to set up a PA system? if it had been at night it would have been better.

there's only one person to be blamed.

A recent display of stupidity and racism 3 months ago in front of the thousand plus students:

"Semua orang berdiri!"

Everyone gets up reluctantly.

"Semua orang duduk!"

What a tyrant she is and who does she think she is trying to treat the students like damn dogs?Or perhaps CATS since she's such a religious bigot!

And i wonder which country's she livin in.
The last time i checked, this place wasn't Aussie in winter.
So why in heaven's name does she wear a coat over her baju kurung and probably hidden beneath are a few other layers of this and that.Probably that's where she hides all her secrets. She's just so full of it!

Anonymous said...

Yeah,I heard from a friend of mine that they had to wake up at 5 or 6 IN THE MORNING just for the dress rehearsal. How do you expect the PA system to be perfect if the students lack sleep? All in all,a good performance. Also,Starbucks was crowded.Probably everyone went there for the caffeine and energy.

Anonymous said...

On the PA system, I would say that this year was far better than last year.

The problem we faced was there was insufficent time for the PA system guy to conduct a 100% sound check.

If it was Bakat Malam, he would have installed the equipment in the afternoon and would have sufficient time to run through every act. Instead he only have 2 hours to do so. No thanks to you know who..........

Overall we did enjoy ourselve.
