The Questionable Malam Bakat or is it Hari Bakat

The Hari Bakat is over and was well attended by parents, students, ex-students and friends. The performers did exceptionally well and they certainly deserve all the credits for making this event possible.
There was NO misbehaviour conduct among the students before, during and after the event. The Pengetua has certainly proven her point in avoiding any parents - She DID NOT turn out. Regardless of any reasons to be given, the Pengetua should have at least be present as this is her school and anything else is secondary.
The Pengetua escaped another confrontation and live again another day.

The school issued a newsletter today having a few important issues in its contents.

Firstly, the reason or rational in changing the annual Malam Bakat into Hari Bakat.

Secondly, a meeting session with the parents organised by the PIBG.

Thirdly, a Q&A section regarding many problems which were brought up since the beginning of year 2008.

These 3 important sections were included in this newsletter. Parents, please get it from your children and comment on it.

Easy! Boycott Hari Bakat. Good luck getting photos from me because I don't have any.:P BTW, I'm one of the school photographers.

Well it's gonna be hari bakat already. Even IF the pengetua steps down this week, they are unable to change the time. And the Q&A part of the newsletter, most of them are fake answers.

Besides, the PIBG is also making their moves already. This pengetua wont stay long.

Oh and err.. can remove the work verification thing? very "zho deng" I failed typing 3 times... x.x

I am very curious to know what is this meeting called "Majlis Suaikenal PIBG" which has to be divided into 4 sessions according to Forms actually is? Is it a meeting just to get to know members of PIBG as suaikenal if translated to English should be "getting to know" or could it be a get together with PIBG members with food & refreshment served? Or alternatively could it be the impending continuation of the long awaited AGM 2008? Or a meeting with PIGB members to trash out any problems involving our childern of SMKBUD4 as it is divided into 4 different sessions of 3 Saturdays and a Sunday respectively? Which one??? I am very confused!!!

Would appreciate if the Pengetua, Pn Zabedah be more specific. What is this meeting all about? Also if we have more than 2 children studying in SMKBUD4, does this mean that we have to there at the alotted day and time. Why the hassle of having so many different sessions? Why can't it be just 1 day irregardless of which Form.

Again bear in mind 3 sessions are on Saturday morning from 10-12pm. Not all parents are free to attend. A lot have to work! She must be up to one of her tricks again so that not many parents can make it!

By the way will our dear Pengetua, Pn Zabedah be there on the appointed dates to listen and answer to our queries and grouses. If she is not going to be around, then why bother to fix the meeting at all. We do not want to meet the PIBG members alone. We certainly want Pn Zabedah around!

A VERY CONFUSED PARENT.

Hari bakat.......show ur talents under the hot sun???Well tat sounds Boringggggg......

It is easy why she split the meeting to 4 days. When all parents are united under one roof, you would have the PIBG "incident" repeating itself.

So,she decided to break parents up in order to handle the stress well. That way,we cant gang up on her.Correct??

Besides, chances are not many parents are going to speak up because she can track the child as the parents are coming based on their child's form level. They speak up,sure some mole in the ranks will notify which class so she can hammer down on the student.

Besides, the newsletter is full of lies.Tell you what, did you know there was a fight yesterday?I would like to confirm this as it is very disturbing.

20 students beating some guy up.And it was 20 malays mind you.Disiplin teachers saw.And that kid came up to one and say,we are teaching your child a lesson.

Is this how students handle problems???This has to stop.It is sadistic!!

maybe she wont attend pagi bakat in fear of the parents coming to get her.

just in case, performers, do whatever the hell you want!

It is very unfair for a one sided view. Although i have to agree to the matter that the pengetua is avoiding the Q&A of many parents. Instead of showing a sense of "CONCERN" to the confused parents of the students, she just build more solid walls around here so that she can be safe from the damaging questions posted by the parents.
In any case, we should find a way where by both parties can meet and discuss the problems that the parents, students and the pengetua is facing.
I truly believe, "Everything happens for a reason. None shall fall upon an empty hope!".

I am damn F**king F**ked Up by this Ass.... What she did is a disgrace to the school!!! Spending 90k on what?! A garden?! What the hell???!!!! Why not on something that is much useful? Like repainting the school and Fixing the thing in the classrooms so that the students are actually in a studies environment. So what if you make the garden any better?! Will students think its good Fengshui! Resulting in better study?! As IF!!! In addition to all this Mayhem, Now even our Schools Plasma TV Has "Mysteriously" Disappeared?! Who Do you think could have stolen it?! HMMMM!!!????? And i am damn pissed of by this HARI BAKAT!! And WHy?! Because its Senonoh???!!! Students performing and showing their talents is something that is durty?! Then i think you should go back to your jungle!!! As you live in the world where dinosaurs still roam, and narrow minded old hag who cannot even judge from wrong and right??! And do you enjoy to let everyone suffer?!! Do you want everyone to hate you?! Do you enjoy it?! Do YOU!!!!

both reasons for changing to hari bakat doesn't make sense at all. Imagine when it is in the day, the kids will have even longer time to hang out. Secondly, day or night has nothing to do with bringing outsiders, it is a case of control. Anyway, students should be encouraged to go and not to boycott. it is to support the students and not giving her an excuse to cancel it due to poor response. For all you know she won't even be there. So kids... enjoy and cheer for your friends. Make the most out of it. Hang out.. You have the whole day. Hahaha.

Can someone confirm if she will be at the majlis suai kenal at all. If yes, I couldn't be bothered if my child is in Form 5 or not. I'll be going for it. Encourage all parents to go. she can 'divide and conquer' but we can do the opposite. Join forces and overcome. After all, our kids are going to form 5 someday. Then there won't be second hand or third hand information which she can deny saying.

U r right. She may not be around. This principal is a pro at playing Houdini!

she wanted to change the malam bakat to hari bakat BUT she isn't even going to attend this HARI BAKAT! everyone seems to be boycotting it BUT in the end she will have every more reason to scrape it off next year.

she wanted to abolish blitzerz as well AND we fought for it. saying that cheer has been our tradition. look at what is happening, no one seems to care about blitzerz. pity those ppl who actually wanted to uphold our school tradition during recess every day because no one seems to care about cheer anymore.

WAKE up people, you can boycott anything but if you do so. she'll just gain more excuses to abolish off our school events.

if you care so much, then show her that we care about our school. one way is by supporting blitzerz who are physically and mentally (thanks to u guys) tortured.

message to administrator:
if you really care about BU4, then y do u encourage ppl to boycott all the events? have you not thought about blitzerz? they are not getting their uniforms sponsored this year coz she seems to have splashed everything on some polluted fountain. don't you think that they are mentally deprived because of the low number of people caring and supporting them like last year?

that's all i guess...

you want to see this school become like SMDU?? no,right? then its time to fight. speak up.

Anonymous said...

I agree.Yes she can conquer by splitting the parents up.But the parents aren't going to let it happen easily right??Who cares? If your child has a friend, then go with that parent and attend the meeting regardless of form.

Stand together and remember together we are strong,if we split then we will be striked down easily.

Well Malam Bakat is now certainly Hari Bakat. From night to morning very clever of her indeed! This new Pengetua, Pn Zabedah just loves to change whatever Pn Liu Ling Ling has meticuious implemented. She is a destroyer or shall I say she is jealous of Pn Lui's capabilities.

What is Pn Zabedah capable of? Building pondoks, fountains and gardening. What a pity she has taken up the wrong profession as a teacher! Landscaping & gardening certainly suits her better!

Now coming back to Malam Bakat, I am very disappointed that it has been changed to Hari Bakat. Changing it will definitely not solve the ongoing disciplinary problems of smoking, dating etc. As a matter of fact these problems are present in every school whether we like or not.

As one of the parents had earlier mentioned in this blog that with this Hari Bakat to be held from 10am - 12noon, there will be more time for students to hang out.

So Pengetua, Pn Zabedah, are you going to restrict your students from going to other places right after Hari Bakat has finished or are you going to guard them and make sure they go home straight???....

Pn Zabedah, you cannot punish all your students by changing this and that all because of 1 or 2 rotten apple in the basket. It could be just 1 or 2 students smoking and dating in the previous Malam Bakat, why punish the whole school??? Use your brain wisely to deal with the respective students and not just use the easy way out to change Malam Bakat to Hari Bakat.

A VERY DISAPPOINTED & ANNOYED PARENT

I agree with encouraging the students to attend the Hari Bakat and Cheer. Show her the spirit of the students. Nothing can change it. Whatever she attempts to do. Boycotting will only mean that she has succeeded.

Frankly, why the need for 4 different sessions of suaikenal with PIBG when there is Hari Temu Mesra? It's officially on the school calender, an annual school open day, which will be held this Friday(27June 08).What can be more important than making yourself(Pn. Zabedah) available and accessible to parents who are coming to collect their children,s report cards. As head, surely thereshould be concerted effort to network with the parents - your clients after all. Be professional, show accountability and integrity. No help if you continue to be like the ostrich with its head buried in the sand. Or, perhaps get off your high horse!

Anonymous said...

i suggest the parents to ambush her at every event.

Hari Bakat(eventhough she might not be there) Hari Temu Mesra(this friday) and all the suaikenal(s).

since its divided to forms for everyweek. Parents, just be there every week! Why not?
if she skips the first week, be there the second week! Show up everytime until she has no other choice but to face the parents or to leave the school.

I doubt she'll leave though. She'll most probably think of more houdini schemes to get away. and build more pondoks!
maybe she;ll build a lake soon. or a waterfall.

Anything to keep the fengshui up right?

btw, 5th former, i dont recall the admin ever asking us to boycott.

and oh, did anyone notice that none of the teachers seem to care about cheer this yr?
i think the pengetua must have told them they're not allowed to help promote cheer.
Leave it all to trixxon.

parents... please push her till she pops.

Announcement to everyone.....
She won't be around during the Majlis Temu Mesra and Hari Bakat. She will conveniently disappear for the weekend.

Anonymous said...

For clarification, some of the teachers did try to help to promote the cheerleading competition but they have to do it discreetly (as they're entering the class to teach). Some of the teachers do want to help but their hands are tied...pity them.

O.o, anonymous. Why am i thinking that Pn. Zubaidah will disappear along-side with her? Double act, non Oh of all the scandals. Tsk tsk.

Where is the bilik kesihatan?

next to the library. to the left.

Its that little nondescript room at the end of the corridor, to your left, should you be facing the library. The room that has iron grills securing it. Oh, and try reaching your hand into one of the loose window panes. Its further secured by (my guess,) a large metal cabinet. All the windows are closed, as they're not loose.

(none of the doors in our school has such tight security except for the counseling room, but then again there might be mad people being counseled. So that's quite understandable. But THAT room? Huh. Wonder who's being or having mad rompy fun in there? Lol.)

Malam Bakat 2007, tickets were oversold ( roughly 1000 plus).

Hari Bakat 2007, tickets could not be sold ( 300plus -.-'')

-700 tickets in difference.
- RM 7000 loss.

However, you think the HM gives a damn about this? To her, it would only make her job a lot easier in the future.

- She will get rid of Talent Day.
- Replace it with something we would not approve of.

To all those in the PIBG committee, both past(2007) and present(2008), you all are useless. There is a reason why you guys stood to be a part of the committee right? No one forced you. So why aren't you doing your job. Those in charge of the audits, how did you let this HM spent a whopping 80prcnt(correct me if i'm wrong) of the school's funds on beautification of the school? You are to be blamed!

Wow.It took Puan Liu 4 years(maybe less) to make this school famous whereas Zabedah took barely even 6 months to screw it up.Beautiful work you have done I got to say Zabedah.

hahahhha.the post above mine.whatever.this pengetua has got to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!She's selfish, rude, inconsiderate and definitely blind and stupid. Why is she even in our school?????Ask her to pack up her ass and leave. She'll be doing us all a favor.

I am a father of 2 children studying in SMKBUD4 - my son is in Form 5 while my daugther is in Form 2 and also another daughter who left school in 2006 after her SPM. I would like to take this opportunity to clear some issues pertaining to PIBG matters which was raised by an anonymous dated 28June 08 at 9.58pm.

No hard feelings please. I just wanted to comment and share my opinion. First of all the past PIBG committee members (2002-2007) had contributed significantly to the welfare of SMKBUD4 under the era of Pn Lui Ling Ling which she has taken many years to build SMKBUD4 to be one of the schools in PJ which is envious of many other schools in PJ. But however when the new Pengetua, Pn Zabedah came in late November 07, she just changed and destroyed SMKBUD4 within her first 3 months! I know for sure that the past PIBG committee members had put in their best effort especially during all the fund raising projects. I was there to assist them. As a matter of fact we can't say that the past and present PIBG committee members are useless just because they have not managed to solve the present crisis that was beautifully created by the new Pengetua! Let's give us our moral support to them and I believe we can succeed.

Secondly, I would also like to clarify the auditor issue. Incidentally I am an auditor by professional. Again no hard feelings please. The main job specification of an auditor is to audit the accounts which had been transacted which must be fully documented with all the proper documents attached, authorised and signed by the relevant authorised parties concerned. In other words an auditor's work is history as she/he only checks the accounts after being transacted. So in this case where you had blamed the school's auditors for allowing the new Pengetua to spend 80% (actually it is about 40%, please check annual accounts of AGM 2008 - the yellow booklet) of the funds is incorrect as the auditors have no power to stop the Pengetua as the auditors are not involved in the day to day running of the cashflow, budget and accounts. Never mind for blaming the auditors as a lot of people has the preception that auditors are same as financial controller/accountant! Unfortunately it is not so though there maybe a few similarities. The financial controller/accountant is the person who controls the cashflow, budget and prepares the accounts.

I hope I have managed to clear the above 2 issues. I didn't mean to be harsh and I sincerely hope there is no hard feelings from the anonymous dated 28 June 08 at 9.58pm.

Just doing my part to clear the above issues.
